Not selling at AD2017. Big projects I'm planning for is a webcomic panel and maybe some cosplay. This is the last AD before they move to a rather-too-expensive-for-me-hotel so I plan to make this one my last Anime Detour for a while. Also planning on distributing free DE mini comics.

Planning to sell at Springcon 2017 if I make it in.

Other things that are new: I finally got myself to post DE in Taptastic. tapastic.com/series/Demon-Eate…
Go there to see my redrawn pages for book 1 I did in 2016. I plan to post my redrawn pages for book 2 there as well. A bit late in the game for catching up in the ranks, but at least I got a fresh new place to post.

My other DE sites have been going real slow now. It's been a tough year for posting much content here or anywhere online for me.

Going off to do some location research for DE next week. Southwest USA. Texas.

Probably will be an eternity until I get to that part.

Have been distracted by Pokemon Moon since it came out the 18th. I got to the point where I want to hold off on completing the game, because I got a road trip at the end of this month. Thought about fanart but not currently making any new pokemon art. There's so much great pokemon sun and moon fanart out there. Don't feel like I am filling any void.

I've been struggling with DE lately. I feel so much pressure on myself to draw a good scene. It involves a lot of figure drawing, which is slowing me down. It's not the easy stuff like my cartoon dinosaur drawings.

Oh! Another thing. I am going to Anime Detour 2017 this year, BUT not selling. I'm planning on promoting and running panels. I am supposedly on the AD staff as a backup artist. Being so far away from Minneapolis and not being able to go to the staff meetings, I have no idea if they will assign me anything. I admit I'm taking a break from Artist Alley selling. Long story short, the last three cons I've been at felt a bit off for me. The stuff that sells at artist alley isn't the stuff I want to make. From the online sales of the DE books in Oct and Nov I know there is an audience out there for my comic work. I just need to figure out a better way.

Ok so the sales for DE vol 1 color went amazing. Sold out of all my colored books. I was pretty impressed by variety of fans buying them. I was able to sell a few to Europe and Canada as well as the US. Thank you! I am planning on adding that addition of DE vol 1 to Indyplanet once I figure out all the tax info stuff for small businesses.

Not sure when I want to seriously get to constructing the 2nd Edition of volume 2 yet. I'm currently trapped in indecision over what college I should go to for the summer. If I should just do it online and have more time for DE art or go to physically there classes.

It's been almost two months with no internet at my residence. That feels like a long time. I really want to make a good impression at my new job so I haven't gone to DA in a while.

As you can see... I removed most of my other comics VB, PC, and Moemon. I'm going to repost them in an all ages account. Don't quite know where yet. Thinking about Tap-tastic.

I'm going to keep TPCTH and DE art here. No worries.

The new job has been a lot more busy than my previous one. To give out what it is, it's teaching teens how to draw and draw comics. It's a lot of preparation and off hours work.

Cons: Furmigration was enjoyable, but the team that I worked with was very disappointed that we didn't make anything near a profit. I was glad to promote, reconnect with friends and research how to make a new mascot head for my work but the cost and the location of a lot of cons is making me have to redo the entire convention selling strategy.

I also think I need to make more completely new art. I'm getting too much art that's following me con to con and not selling.

After Fallcon, I'd probably have to take a break for a while. Most likely focusing on updating my webcomics.

Replying to "Pokemon is forever" DA feature journal and just getting a chance to talk about pokemon. www.deviantart.com/browse/all/…
  1. What is your favorite Pokémon?

Um.....I like all the eevee evolutions. I do like Shinx and it's evolution chain.

  1. What attributes of either the Pokemon Universe or Game Play draw you in the most to keep you playing Pokémon games?

It's the new games every few years. It takes me a while to get bored with each new game. I like raising them as if they are pets.

  1. If you battle, is this due to a competitive urge, or is it more about the social bonding with your teammates?

Just a chance to interact with people at conventions. I like theme teams such as all mustache team, all pink team, all Godzilla team, all robot team...

  1. Do you have any strong years-ago memories tied to Pokémon?

Met my best bud Christina through pokemon in 1999. (She gamesharked a mew for me!)

  1. Can you think of any more improvements or options that would make the Pokémon experience even better?

Riding pokemon as if on a bike in the gameworld. Pokemon racing like that one episode in the show.

  1. Someday will you encourage your children to play Pokémon?  Do you think you will be able to explain your passion for this massively time-consuming “hobby?”

Oh gosh I don't know. I met adult people at my last work that got some of their pokemon from their parents. Wow. So it can be a nice bonding activity.
I think with video games it is important to not let kids get carried away/consumed by it. But maybe give a little playtime as a reward for good behavior or tasks...
But...if the kid has a personality type where they get crazy addicted to video games and don't want to go to school or work, I'd probably rid it from the house altogether.

There will be an opportunity to buy sponsorship ads in volume 2....sometime...in the future I must complete vol 1 first.

Look forward to a special to buy DE vol 1 with extra gifts such as original page art from DE and printmaking cards. (Either independently or through Patreon.)

Also what's going on in my life: Moved back to the Midwest. Going between jobs um looking for a job. Just had a huge garage sale selling a lot of my old childhood possessions, anime and comic book collections. Hoping to donate a lot of unsold comics to the local library. In short, been very very busy.

Have a lot of art and photos to share but gonna have to wait until these big ticket tasks are complete.

Take care,

The advantage of the black and white version is that the book will be sold for half the price as the colored versions so there may be more buyers.
To buy a half page ad in the black and white book the cost will $30.
To buy a half page ad in the colored version the cost will be $30.
To buy a half page ad in both the cost is $50. You can have different graphics for the color and black and white version.
It is possible to buy a full page ad. The cost will be $60 for color or black and white book.
Another deal I am adding is that you will be able to additionally purchase the book/s at base cost + shipping (price pending).
Requirements:
Demon Eater vol 1 features talking creatures with some scifi biology elements. Recommended ads be centered around cartoon creatures, monsters, and scifi/horror webcomics/art. Since Demon Eater is a NSFW webcomic, your ad can be for NSFW art/products/webcomics, but… I am avoiding pure pornography.  I also recommend that the business/website you are advertising will still be around for at least 5 years.  I reserve the right to disapprove any ad I do not feel comfortable with.
Half page ad should be in TIFF format, 300 dpi, 2307 x 1489 pix. Leave bleed margins(keep writing in) at 38pix at top and bottom and 90pix right and left side. Even if the webcomic or site advertised is NSFW keep the art in the ad pg13.
Deadline to submit ads is June 9th 2016. Contact me through my email at Jillyfoo@gmail.com.  Put “advertising DE” in the subject. Give me a link to what you are advertising and let me reply back giving you the approval to pay and submit your ad TIFF. The book is planned to be complete by late June 2016.
Ask questions here or by email.

When is DE updating again? When I complete my move home. Supposed to be today but admin didn't pull through with my paperwork. Give me a couple weeks.
When am I updating here again? I got a lot of art piled up over the last 8 months. After I complete my move back to the Midwest I'll get on it.

I'm gone far far away. Probably in Europe working and taking research photos... collecting rare candy.... eating kinder eggs...and the toy inside too...

I want to work on DE book prints. Been wanting to have more prints since couple years ago (didn't pursue cause I didn't have a good mailing address for a while).

After reading One Punch Man webcomic and manga version(check it out) I really would love to redraw parts of DE.

It's easy to make that first book and sell, but how do you make it worth getting the 2nd, 3rd book...

I am considering hiring a cover artist(or more) if I am stuck in a 40-60 hour job again this coming summer. My art has always been weak in full illustration. If I can't put in the hours to make something really good, I should commission someone that's better than me. (and support a fellow artist ya know.)

I didn't have much luck 2 years ago trying to get people to pay to put in their personal ad in the DE prints, but if you are interested... I will probably try that again this coming summer. More info later.

Reply about splitting accounts... Aw man thanks for the support. :) What free gallery site should I upload to if not DA? I'm thinking maybe some kind of MN artist site. Do you have suggestions?

So I am going to be moving to a very conservative small town this spring and... I want to show my work to my Mom's associates in the future.
I'm considering making a new DA account that just has my safe mainstream stuff... Stuff I will have no fear of showing grandmas, children and the like. That stuff is going to be my sculptures and most of my paintings.

This account will keep all the webcomic stuff. I'm also thinking about getting back onto the fanart wagon again here as well as making a drawing portfolio.

So I am wondering do you watch this account more for the webcomic art or the sculpture art?

The change will not happen now, but this spring sometime. Thanks for all your support these years.

I'm packing to move out of my place this weekend. I get to go back to the Midwest spring 2016, but not before a long boat ride halfway across the world. The internet out to sea is way too weak for DA so I won't be able to check out a lot of stuff here. When I get on land I will.

The site that does work well for me is my twitter. I'll probably will still be doofing around on the Comicfury forums.

I'm planning on taking my scanner with me so I'll still try(I really mean TRY not promising)to continue to update Demon Eater.

See ya around guys.

I'm gonna be leaving soon. It's really starting to catch on now since I've been working nonstop.

I've been looking into Patreon. I am considering some ideas for it. I'm not going to go all out though. No 1 reason: Deployment. No 2: I want my art to still be fun. Like I want to use my art making as a getaway, an escape from work. I don't want it to become work like the days of the clay fox factory.

I really want to get back into teaching again. I searched for art teaching jobs a few days ago. The search results were fantastic compared to four years ago. If I could just get a really good curriculum together to make up for the lack of years of teaching experience....

Will I still be updating DE? I don't know yet. I'll try.

I'm feeling that I finally got stuff to talk about.

First I'm going to try to go to Anthrocon this year in July. My friend has been so enthusiastic about it. He's making me excited too. I'm going to attempt to get into their artist alley otherwise it's gonna be promotion and freebies.

I'm working on blank pages of DE in attempt to get DE translated into other languages. I already have an offer to have DE translated into Russian. (I have a number of friends that were adopted from Russia and a Russian linguist friend in the Airforce, so they said they let me know how good the translation is.) I want to someday get DE translated into Spanish and French too.

I haven't been putting much art in DA due to most of my work lately is DE pages. I'm working on building a large buffer so I can take some time off to research the next story arc for DE. I want to actually go to the places the characters will go to. I don't wanna just watch movies or look at pictures online. I wanna be there and experience it.

I have been tired of my sculpture work. I've been experimenting with Radioshack's melty plastics to try to make a better sculpture. The problem is I just don't have much inspiration. Make a fox...make a dog...make a wolf....I'm not feeling the love. So many cool things are already out there in stores... I just can't think of what to make that would be really special. So for now I'm making things, but mostly experiments...things not worth posting yet... Kinda like what college art class used to be.. which can be nice.
